About Us

We opened our doors in the winter of 2004 with the intention of creating a collection of items we have seen and loved on our travels around the world.

Our aim is to provide a collection far from the mass produced product crowd and offer unique and inspirational items.

As a company we are committed to sustainability and where possible products are made using natural, ethically sourced materials like seagrass, water hyacinth, rattan, bamboo, cotton, shells, and wood in our designs. We opt for materials that have a minimal impact on the environment and create little or no waste. Therefore chemicals or toxins are not used during the processing and treatment of our products.

Working with suppliers who pride themselves working hand in hand with local producers and suppliers. By fostering strong partnerships within the community, they are able to bring you a wide range of products. Sourced from local producers in Indonesia that operate a fair deal for their workers and employees. They are not only committed to paying fair wages to artisans and producers, but are also committed to providing a safe, healthy working environment that is free of harassment, discrimination, and forced labor.

Indonesia is well-known for its ‘cottage industry’: handcrafting that is done by the local community, in which suppliers mobilise their family or village and everyone has their own specialty. This has created a flourishing economy, leaving family values and cultural practices intact. This cultural practice ensures that every item is one-of-a-kind, carrying its own unique story and character, making our products truly special and meaningful.
